It was Josh’s granddad Dennis Royle (1937-2017) who encouraged him to take up singing. He directed Josh down the right paths, bought him his first microphone and PA system, and constantly guided and supported Josh in his desire to perform.
As a direct result, Burnley-born Josh became involved with musical theatre from the age of ten. It was in the theatre that he developed his voice and learned how to draw an audience into a performance. Leading roles in musicals followed, including “Guys and Dolls”, “Singing in the Rain”, “Grease” and “The Wedding Singer”. It was Josh’s performance in the latter which led, in 2015, to Josh embarking on a career as a singer at weddings and top corporate events. Josh was Regional Winner of the North West Wedding Awards in 2017, and continues to perform countrywide at functions and in theatre productions throughout the North West.
Josh’s easy swing style is clearly influenced by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. and Michael Buble, and his superb voice brings a fresh new sound to familiar and well-loved songs. “Just In Time” is Josh’s debut album, recorded at Legal Studios, with a jazz trio, saxes and woodwind. The twelve tracks on the CD demonstrate Josh’s fantastic vocal versatility, from ballads and blues to swing.
Josh gigs regularly in the UK and overseas and can be contacted via his website:
